Tengrinews.kz - A Nigerian citizen has been deported from Kazakhstan after being detained by police in the capital.

The 21-year-old was detained during a law enforcement operation by the Esil District's migration service. According to the police, he was initially ordered to leave the country in May of this year following a court ruling but failed to comply. Instead, he worked as a cleaner in hotels in Astana and Almaty.

"An administrative court has now enforced the deportation order, and the foreign national was sent back to his home country by air," police said.

In the last four days, authorities in Astana have identified 644 cases of violations of residence rules by foreign nationals.

Additionally, 92 Kazakh citizens were held accountable for breaches related to the conditions of stay for their invited foreign guests. Another 20 citizens faced administrative penalties for illegal employment practices and hiring unauthorized foreign workers.

In total, 69 foreign nationals have been deported from Astana in recent days.
