Popular baby names for boys
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the name Mukhammed has taken the lead, replacing Alikhan, which had consistently topped the list since 2014. Meanwhile, Nurislam, previously among the top 10, dropped out of the rankings in 2024.
The top 10 names for boys in 2024 are:
- Mukhammed – 3,633
- Aisultan – 2,862
- Alikhan – 2,719
- Muhammad – 2,712
- Omar – 2,484
- Aldiyar – 2,295
- Amir – 2,266
- Alan – 2,259
- Ali – 1,912
- Khamza – 1,857
Popular baby names for girls
For girls, the name Mariam entered the top 10 for the first time, pushing Amina out of the list. Ailin retained its position as the most popular name.
The top 10 names for girls in 2024 are:
- Ailin – 5,578
- Medina – 5,417
- Asylym – 5,020
- Aisha – 4,493
- Tomiris – 3,369
- Ayala – 2,986
- Aiym – 2,875
- Mariam – 2,794

As of December 1, Kazakhstan's population reached 20,265,320, increasing by 231,478 people compared to the beginning of 2024. The natural population growth accounted for 217,133 people, while net migration contributed 14,345 people.
