Labor ministry reveals average pension in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has revealed the average pension in Kazakhstan as of May 1, 2025.

Since the beginning of the year, the government has paid a total of 1.394 trillion tenge in pensions. Of this amount, 450.8 billion tenge was allocated for the basic pension and 943.4 billion tenge for the solidarity pension.

As of May 1, the number of pensioners in the country stands at 2.471 million people.

“The average total pension as of May 1, 2025, is 143,400 tenge, including 95,784 tenge in solidarity pension and 47,616 tenge in basic pension,” the ministry said.

For comparison, in April 2025 the average total pension was slightly higher at 143,622 tenge, with 95,963 tenge from the solidarity portion and 47,659 tenge from the basic portion.

Previously, the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) revealed the highest monthly pension payment in Kazakhstan.
