Regional akim (governor) Nariman Turegaliev inspected the condition of dams in flood-prone areas, ensuring the readiness of equipment and evacuation points.
Nariman Turegaliev visited the villages of Ushana, Sulykol, and Ushagash in the Karatobe district, as well as the district center, to assess flood preparedness. In total, 9.8 kilometers of protective dams have been built in the Karatobe district (in the villages of Korzhyn, Karatobe, Ushagash, Sulykol, and Ushana). A total of 15 kilometers of protective dams have been constructed to safeguard flood-prone settlements. To manage potential flood consequences, 83 units of equipment have been allocated. The district has organized 9 evacuation points with a capacity of 430 people.
"We must thoroughly prepare to prevent flooding. All work must be carried out on time and with high quality. The main priority is ensuring the safety of the population. To achieve this, it is essential to fully prepare the necessary equipment and machinery, as well as establish round-the-clock monitoring in case of rising water levels and warming," said Turegaliev.
The regional akim instructed Deputy Bakhytzhan Narymbetov, district akims, and responsible organizations to strengthen flood prevention measures and maintain strict control over the situation.
