Kazakhstan planning to bring FDI up to 13-14% of GDP

Kazakhstan plans to bring FDI up to 13-14% of the nation’s GDP, Asylkhan Serikov, Head of Committee for Investments under the Ministry of Industry and New Technology. These indicators are key targets of the Government’s Program to attract investments, develop special economic zones and stimulate exports. “Within the Program, we plan to bring the FDI up by 5% as a percentage of the GDP. Currently FDI stands at 8-9% of the GDP”, Mr. Serikov said when speaking at the Astana Invest 2011 forum.
