Tengrinews.kz - Meteorologists have dismissed viral claims about an upcoming extreme heatwave in Kazakhstan, calling them false, according to Stopfake.kz.
"Once every 60 years"
A widely shared WhatsApp message has been circulating among Kazakhstani users, warning of unprecedented summer heat reaching 40–50°C across Europe and parts of Central Asia. The message claims such weather occurs only once every 60 years and will affect Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
What meteorologists are saying
Kazhydromet, Kazakhstan’s national weather service, has officially denied the rumor.
“The information that Kazakhstan is expecting abnormal heat is not true. We urge the public to trust only official sources and not unverified reports from the internet,” the agency said in a statement.
