Kazakhstan announces Jan – Aug gas and crude oil production output

According to State Agency for Statistics, natural gas production output figure for the 8 months made up 26.3 billion cubic meters, 7.8% up against the like period of 2010. Gas production in 2010 totaled 37.4 billion cubic meters, 3.9% up against 2009. According to the Oil and Gas Ministry’s Strategic Development Plan, gas production is to reach 42 billion cubic meters to be further boosted to 59.3 billion by 2015. Crude oil production output for the period under review grew 0.7% against the same period of 2010. The figure made up 44.9 million tons of oil, including 5.7 million tons in August. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that Kazakhstan plans to boost oil production to 102 million tons by 2016. The target was specified in the 2012 – 2014 draft budget presentation at the Majilis (lower chamber) September 12. Oil and Gas Ministry had reported that estimated oil production output in 2011 would make up 81 million tons, growing to 83 million tons in 2012-2013, to 85 million tons in 2014 and to 95 million tons by 2015. The 2010 oil production output totaled 80 million tons, 4.2% up against 2009.
