In the corridors of the Mazhilis, journalists asked Bakaev whether any Kazakhstanis were among the victims of the recent explosions in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
“Indeed, we do have citizens there, but thank God, none of them are among the victims. No one has reached out to us. As of now, there are about 1,500 Kazakhstanis in Qatar,” said Bakaev.
He added that 516 people are registered with the consulate, and diplomats are in regular contact with them.
