In July 2025, Kazakhstanis will enjoy extra time off in honor of one of the country’s main public holidays – Capital Day, celebrated annually on July 6 to mark the transfer of the capital from Almaty to Astana in 1998.
How Kazakhstanis will rest during Capital Day 2025
Since July 6 falls on a Sunday, the day off is moved to Monday, July 7, in accordance with the law "On Holidays." As a result, those with a five-day workweek will have three consecutive days off: July 5, 6, and 7.
Five-day workweek:
- July 5 (Saturday) – day off;
- July 6 (Sunday) – day off;
- July 7 (Monday) – day off.
Six-day workweek:
- July 5 (Saturday) – working day;
- July 6 & 7 (Sunday & Monday) – days off.
Total rest days in July 2025:
- Five-day workweek: 9 days off, 22 working days;
- Six-day workweek: 5 days off, 26 working days.
