Tengrinews.kz – An amendment has been proposed to the Law "On the Prevention of Offenses" that would ban the wearing of clothing in public places that obstructs facial recognition. This proposal was voiced during a working group meeting in the Senate.
Today, the Senate is hosting a meeting of the working group of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, the Judicial System, and Law Enforcement Agencies.
The proposed amendment to the law would prohibit the wearing of garments in public places that prevent facial identification. Exceptions would be made in cases where such clothing is required by Kazakhstani law, official (occupational or work-related) duties, for medical reasons, civil protection, weather conditions, or for individuals participating in sports, mass sports, or cultural events.
As a reminder, during the 4th session of the National Kurultai in Burabay, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of strengthening national identity through indigenous culture.
“Rather than wearing face-covering black garments, it is much better to wear clothing in the national style. Our national attire vividly highlights ethnic identity, so it should be actively promoted,” said the Head of State.
