Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake was registered on May 29 at 02:14 Astana time near the village of Akshi in the Zhetysu region, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
According to the ministry, the tremors were not felt.
"The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Kazakhstan, 11 kilometers from the village of Akshi in the Alakol district of the Zhetysu region, 478 kilometers northeast of Almaty," the statement said.
No reports of casualties or destruction were received.
Specialists from the Kazselezashchita Department of the MES inspected riverbeds, hydraulic structures, landslide-prone and mudflow-prone areas.
"A visual inspection of life support facilities was also carried out to check for possible damage. As a result of the inspection, no damage was detected, and the mentioned facilities are currently operating normally," the MES reported.
No damage or casualties have been reported. The situation is stable, the agency noted.
