The budget of Astana is larger than the budget of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting on further development of Astana on June 3, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to the President, there are $2 billion in Astana budget, while Kyrgyzstan's budget is $1.8 billion. “Currently Astana is the best city out of 81 cities of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). Annual GDP grew 16 times since 2000 and made $18.5 thousand, which is twice higher that the average value for Kazakhstan,” Nazarbayev said. He noted that this is the level of European countries. Infant mortality rate is twice lower in Astana than the average country level, while birth rate is 2.5 times higher. Average lifetime of Astana citizens is 74 years.
