Tengrinews.kz - Airports in Kazakhstan will no longer store items prohibited for transport that are confiscated from passengers during security checks, the Ministry of Transport reported.

According to the ministry, the change is necessary to comply with international standards and to optimize passenger service processes.

“We recommend that passengers familiarize themselves in advance with the list of items prohibited for air transport. Detailed information is available on airline and airport websites, as well as at check-in counters and security checkpoints. For example, liquids, aerosols, and gels in containers over 100 milliliters, as well as other potentially dangerous items, are not allowed in carry-on luggage,” the ministry said.

Aviation safety rules also prohibit transporting unpackaged homemade food products. This includes honey, jam, dairy goods, and other preserves. Such items will be confiscated and disposed of during screening.

“The full list of hazardous substances and items prohibited for passengers to carry on civil aircraft is available via the link,” the ministry added.

The ministry also mentioned that items not meeting safety requirements can be handed over to accompanying persons.

The new rule will take effect on August 27.

Earlier, Astana Airport reminded passengers that careless remarks related to security threats are strictly prohibited.
