Tengrinews.kz - Armenia has extradited a dangerous repeat offender to Kazakhstan who is suspected of attempted murder, according to the General Prosecutor’s Office.
In September 2024, the man, a Kazakh citizen with multiple prior convictions, allegedly attacked another man in Petropavlovsk while intoxicated. Acting out of hooligan motives, he inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim’s vital organs. The victim survived thanks to urgent medical care.
After committing the crime, the suspect fled and was placed on an international wanted list. He was arrested in Armenia in October of the same year. Following extradition procedures, he was returned to Kazakhstan.
The suspect is currently being held in a pre-trial detention facility. If convicted, he faces 15 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Previously, a Kazakhstani national wanted internationally was extradited from Russia to Kazakhstan.
