Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan has entered the top ten countries for reducing deaths from non-communicable diseases. According to the WHO Regional Office for Europe, by 2025 this figure had dropped by a quarter, 24.kz reports.

The Ministry of Healthcare says these results were achieved through prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases.

In addition, the country’s average life expectancy has reached 75.4 years. According to the World Bank, Kazakhstan leads Central Asian countries in life expectancy.

Kazakhstan has also improved its standing in the UNDP Human Development Index: it ranked 60th out of 193 countries, rising seven positions in a year.

Mortality rates are also declining: the overall figure fell by nearly three percent, while infant mortality dropped by more than 20 percent. The Ministry of Healthcare notes that “one-day clinics” operate in 18 perinatal centers, allowing pregnant women to complete all necessary examinations in a single visit.

Maternal mortality fell by 12 percent, reaching a historic low, the TV report says.
