An Astana resident has caught a 6-kilo fish at the Grebnoy canal in the centre of Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing The Megapolis newspaper.
Remir Nigmatullin managed to catch the fish using a simple rod with pickled corn as a bait. “I am shocked. We used to go fishing to the Ili River. Usually one could catch such large fish there, but not in Astana. Here I expected to catch only small fish to have some fun,” the fisherman said.
Hockey players from Khabarovsk and local residents eyewitnessed this successful fishing. The great catch evoked an excitement on the shore, Nigmatullin said.
