5 tons of sulphuric acid spilled near Kyzylorda

Sulphuric acid spilled in Kyzylorda oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. The incident happened close to Yenbekshi village. A Kamaz truck driver made a mistake and overturned his truck. The 32-ton cistern that the truck was transporting contained 27 tons of liquid sulphuric acid. Five tons of the acid got spilled into the asphalt pavement. No casualties have been reported. Three employees and one vehicle of Kyzylorda oblast Emergency Situations Department were dispatched to scrape the accident site. They have already pumped out the spilled acid and disposed of its remains. All the works have been completed successfully.
