Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has checked on the progress of the project of creation of an industrial zone in Almaty, the President’s press-service writes. “Industrial facilities from other parts of Almaty will be transferred to the industrial zone. This will allow to significantly improve transport and ecological situation in the city,” the message states. “The plan is to move the total of 76 industrial and auxiliary companies into the Industrial area. They include 20 food companies, 18 light industrial, 14 furniture, 7 pharmaceutical, 4 chemical and 13 car-manufacturing companies.” The industrial area will fit in state-private companies, as well as a network of educational facilities for training qualified workers and middle-level technical personnel. Earlier Nazarbayev awarded presidential and state scholarships to cultural workers. The awardees asked the President to abstain from retiring.
