Tengrinews.kz – Solar flare activity has recently increased, according to TASS.
“The current forecast shows an almost 100 percent probability of new M-class flares within the next two days, and a significant, approximately 20 percent, probability of the highest X-class flares, which may further increase in the coming days,” the statement says.
It is noted that during the night of June 15, a flare of the second-highest intensity class was also recorded on the Sun.
“On June 15 at 05:01 Astana time, an M6.8 flare lasting 18 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in sunspot group 4105 (S16W74),” the report states.
According to experts from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISZF), the flare poses no danger to Earth but is considered “the most powerful this month.”
