Tengrinews.kz – A woman has been convicted of fraud involving payments from the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) in Astana, according to the city prosecutor's office.
According to the supervisory authority, in 2024, a resident of the capital posted false advertisements in WhatsApp. She offered assistance in the early withdrawal of funds from the UAPF for those whose savings had not yet reached the sufficiency threshold.
The fraudster promised a service she was not actually able to provide and, under the pretense of processing documents, collected payments from citizens ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 tenge. Most of the victims were elderly people.
In total, 17 incidents of fraud were recorded, amounting to over 3 million tenge.
In court, the accused pleaded guilty and fully reimbursed the victims for the damage caused. The court delivered a guilty verdict.
