Over half a million of counterfeit dollars were found in a garages in a private house in Atyrau, KazTAG reports citing press-service of Atyrau oblast department of countering economic crimes. "On October 25 employees of Atyrau oblast department of financial police discovered and suppressed illegal activities of an underground facility producing of counterfeit money,” the press-service stated. Four citizens of Atyrau have already been arrested for production of 2,443 ready for sale counterfeit 100-dollar notes totally worth $244.3 thousand. "100-dollar uncut notes for the total amount of $280.5 thousand were also found in the garage. The counterfeit notes were made in one of the garages at the territory of a private house in Atyrau at a printing machine with the use of different colors of paint and paper complying with the standards of US dollars,” the press-service stated. A criminal case was initiated for production and sales of counterfeit money in large amounts by previous concert. October 28 Atyrau city court sanctioned arrest of the accused.
