Tengrinews.kz - Shyngys Alekeshev, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, reported new cases of phone fraud in the country.
From August 13 to 15, an Anti-fraud operation was held across the republic. During this operation, a 24-year-old citizen from a neighboring country was detained in Almaty. He had installed a SIM-box device in an apartment and was providing services for making fraudulent calls within Kazakhstan.
"In Semey, a foreign national was also detained. He had set up GSM-box equipment in a rented apartment to register virtual subscriber numbers. The 22-year-old was following instructions via a Telegram channel," Alekeshyev reported.
