Tengrinews.kz - A passenger in a Lexus ES tried to burn the car with drugs after police stopped the vehicle in Zhambyl region.
During the operational and preventive measure "Karasora-2024," conducted by patrol police officers and canine specialists, a Lexus ES 350 was stopped on the Almaty-Yekaterinburg highway.
While checking the driver's documents, the passenger doused the car with petrol and tried to set it on fire. However, the fire was immediately extinguished by police officers.
"Police found four bags with a substance of a specific smell in the trunk of the car. The examination revealed that it was dried marijuana weighing approximately 105 kilograms. Residents of the Turkestan region and Astana have been detained for illegal possession and transportation of drugs. A criminal case has been initiated, and the suspects have been placed in the temporary detention facility in the city of Shu," the police department reported.
