Tengrinews.kz – In March, the Border Service of the National Security Committee carried out a number of operations to combat illegal migration, smuggling, and drug trafficking across the state border.
Details were provided by the agency’s press service.
In the Aktobe region, eighteen foreigners were discovered attempting to secretly cross a border checkpoint hidden in the trailer of a cargo truck.
Meanwhile, in the North Kazakhstan region, authorities discovered a large shipment of precursors totaling 5,100 liters intended for the production of synthetic drugs. Since the beginning of the year, authorities have prevented the illegal transport of 9,620 liters of chemical substances (hydrochloric acid, acetone, phenylpentan) and 1,000 kilograms of the compound bromoketone-4. As a result of these operations, the final recipients of these precursors were identified and drug laboratories were dismantled.
Additionally, in the Zhambyl region, border guards stopped the illegal export of 160 tons of ore and precious metal concentrates (gold-bearing sand) worth one billion tenge.
Materials related to these cases have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further procedural decisions.
