Tengrinews.kz - A 12-year-old girl became a mother in Pavlodar region.
The birth took place in a maternity hospital in Pavlodar. The Education Department reported that a 12-year-old schoolgirl gave birth to a girl. She will be 13 years old in a month. Teachers were the first to notice the pregnancy.
"The school principal resigned, and the head of the district education department received a severe reprimand," the Pavlodar region education department commented.
It has been revealed that the schoolgirl became pregnant as a result of rape. According to children's ombudsman Dinara Zakiyeva, an investigation into the sexual assault of the minor is currently underway.
"The criminal case is in production. At the moment a forensic psychiatric examination is being conducted," Zakiyeva said.
The newborn is currently with her mother.
