Kazakhstani airlines company Air Astana will change the routes of some of its flights away from the Ukrainian airspace, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the company.

“Air Astana flights to and from London, Frankfurt and Antalya do not cross the Ukrainian territory, and the route of Atyrau-Amsterdam-Atyrau flights will be changed to bypass the territory of Ukraine,” the company's press office informed.

Air Astana temporarily cancelled Almaty-Kiev flight. In case the operation of the flight proves to be impossible, the airlines company will refund the passengers or book a new flight through the Air Astana information and service center.

Meanwhile, the is no information on whether Air Astana will be avoiding the Ukrainian airspace altogether, like some international airline companies will.

Kazakhstani airlines company SCAT cancelled flights to Kiev back in February due to unstable situation in Ukraine. Currently, no SCAT airplanes fly over Ukraine.

The Malaysian Airlines MH17 flight crashed on July 17 near Shakhersk town in Donetsk Oblast claiming lives of nearly 300 people. According to reports the airplane was hit by a ground-to-air missile.

Anton Geraschenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, posted photographs of the missile smoke stream on his Facebook account accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of helping terrorists. Geraschenko wrote that all passangers and the crew died in the crash of the Boeing-777 allegedly hit by a Buk missile.
