Young singer Bolat Batirbayev from Kokshetau, Kazakhstan won the 7th place at the New Wave Junior 2013 by gaining a total of 187 points, Tengrinews.kz reports.
Bolat got 93 points for his performance Ak Sisa song of Kazakh famous band Dos Mukasan on the first day. On the second day of the contest he sang the composition called Angel of A'Studio band and scored 94 points.
The final results of the contest were unveiled at the gala concert on August 20:
Sophia Tarasova from Ukraine won this year's New Wave Junior with a total of 197 points,
Paulina Skrabite from Lithuania and Diana Khitarova from Russia with a total of 196 points each shared the second place,
Sabina Mustaeva from Uzbekistan won the third place with 195 points.
This year jury consisted of Italian famous operatic tenor Alessandro Safina, Ukrainian jazz-singer Jamala, Russian composers Igor Krutoi and Konstantin Meladze, Russian pop singers Ani Lorak, Vera Brezhneva, Irina Dubtsova, Sergei Lazarev and Yuliya Savecheva.
Bolat Batirbayev from Kokshetau won the Grand-Prix of the children's contest Ayalagan Astana in Kazakhstan to be able to represent his country at the New Wave Junior 2013. Bolat is a Second Degree Laureate of Ak Kogershin international contest, a 1st place holder of the Delphian Youth Games of Akmola oblast and a Grand-Prix holder of national television contest Aigolek.
