Charitable concert Let’s help our mountains! will be held in Almaty to raise funds for restoration after wildfire that happened at Mokhnatka mount this summer, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the press-service of the City’s Culture Department. “A big concert Let’s help our mountains! will be held on November 29 in the Republic Palace in Almaty. More than 20 Kazakhstan singers and bands have agreed to perform free of charge at the concert,” the press-release said. A documentary featuring the Mokhnatka mount tragedy will be screened during the event. Famous Kazakhstan singers Alibek Dnishev, Bibigul Tulegenova, Mayra Ilyassova, Asha Matay, Nurzhan Kermenbayev, Bagdat Sammedinova, Arnau duo, Duet L bands and others will sing at the concert. Earlier Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Akim (Mayor) of Almaty, initiated a fund raising campaign to save and restore the fire-damaged Mokhnatka mount in Ile-Alatau national park in Medeu gorge. Gross stand, bushes and trees on Mokhnatka mount caught fire at 22:30 on August 22. 295 people, including 261 children were evacuated from the nearby Mountain’s Sun children’s camp. The total area damaged by fire made 77.6 hectares, including 47.6 hectares of forest. The total damage is estimated at 338 million tenge ($2.3 million).
