Tengrinews.kz – One of the readers contacted the editorial WhatsApp number with a question about the fact that Special PSCs ask to undergo training for category A or A1 to drive a moped, despite having category B.
As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs answered us, if you have category B in your driver's license, you are allowed to drive a moped without having category A1. These legislative norms come into force on April 5.
However, to drive a motorcycle, you need to obtain category A. And for this, you must undergo training in a driving school.
At the same time, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that to register a moped, the owner does not need to confirm that he has a driver's license of a certain category.

Starting April 5, 2025, mopeds in Kazakhstan will officially be classified as motor vehicles.
