Tengrinews.kz – U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the start of nuclear weapons testing on equal terms with other countries that are conducting their own programs.
The American leader made the statement on Thursday, October 30, on his Truth Social page.
“The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of existing weapons, during my First Term in office,” he explained.
Trump noted that, due to the immense destructive power of nuclear weapons, he did not want to take this step, but said he had no choice.
He emphasized that Russia ranks second in the number of nuclear weapons, while China lags far behind, though it may reach parity with the U.S. within five years.
“Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately,” the U.S. president added.
