Solar activity increasing: scientists predict new flares

Tengrinews.kz – Active regions on the Sun are increasing. The appearance of sunspots indicates the accumulation of energy in magnetic fields, and scientists expect new solar flares, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to the laboratory, the sunspots themselves are harmless structures, but if they suddenly appear out of nowhere, it means strong magnetic fields with large energy reserves have emerged from the Sun’s depths to its surface.

“The faster the corona is pumped with energy, the faster the spots grow,” the report says.

It is noted that by yesterday evening, the flares had resumed. The star has begun burning off its energy.
