Tengrinews.kz – An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was recorded off the coast of the Greek island of Crete.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred at 08:19 Astana time, 59 kilometers north of the Cretan city of Agios Nikolaos.
The epicenter was located at a depth of 15 kilometers. Initially, the center reported a magnitude of 6.3, but it was later downgraded.
No reports of casualties or damage have been received.
As a reminder, on the morning of May 16, Kazakh seismologists recorded an earthquake 253 kilometers from Almaty. The epicenter was located in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
