Tengrinews.kz – A man named Mark Zuckerberg from Indiana has filed a lawsuit against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, according to TechCrunch.

It turns out the namesake of Meta’s CEO is a lawyer who advertises his services on Facebook. However, over the past eight years, his account has been blocked five times — Facebook’s moderation algorithms mistook his profile for a fake account impersonating the famous billionaire.

“It’s not funny. Not when they take my money. This really pissed me off,” the attorney told 13WTHR, a local news station in Indianapolis.

According to media reports, the lawyer spent over $11,000 on Facebook ads. Even after his account was blocked, money continued to be charged for advertising his services.

In his complaint, he included correspondence from 2020, in which he asked why his account had been mistakenly disabled and noted that he had been complaining about the issue since 2017.

“Also, if you happen to run into the younger, richer Mark Zuckerberg, tell him I said hi and he causes me great aggravation each day,” he wrote in a message to Meta.

“It gets in the way of life”: how the name makes the lawyer’s life difficult

According to the lawyer, having the name Mark Zuckerberg has long been a source of problems. He even created a website where he explains how sharing a name with the Meta founder has changed his life.

“I can’t use my name when making reservations or conducting business, as people assume I’m a prank caller and hang up,” he shared.

Sometimes, misunderstandings happen during business trips. For example, during a lecture in Las Vegas, a limo driver met him with a sign that read “Mark Zuckerberg,” causing confusion among onlookers.

“While speaking in Las Vegas, a limo driver was waiting for me at the bottom of the escalator with a sign for ‘Mark Zuckerberg,’ causing chaos as a large disappointed crowd had been waiting,” he recalls.

He said he regularly receives calls and messages meant for the Meta CEO — ranging from threats to requests for money. Nevertheless, he stresses that he harbors no ill will toward his famous namesake — and is even willing to help him legally should Mark Zuckerberg ever run into financial troubles.
