Tengrinews.kz - A video showing a group of young men throwing objects resembling stones at the cable car at "Medeu" is being discussed on social media. The hooligans specifically aimed at the gondola cabins while loudly shouting and swearing. Kazakhs condemned such behavior among the youth.
"It’s embarrassing for our people to see such uncivilized and almost barbaric behavior from young people. What values have they been taught, who will they become, and who will they raise in the future?"
"This is bad. They could have scared people in the cabin, causing it to sway, which is prohibited and unsafe. They could potentially cause an accident," users commented on the video.
Some users suggested that the objects in the young men’s hands were not stones but snowballs. However, there seems to be no snow nearby, according to the video.
The director of the Shymbulak Mountain Resort, Rinat Abdrakhmanov, reacted to the video from social media.
"I am outraged by how some young people lose their understanding of culture and respect, descending into barbarism. I saw a video where a group of guys throws things at a cabin without fear of consequences, cursing loudly and not caring that there could be people inside. They are indifferent to the damage they cause to someone else's property and the potential consequences of their actions. What will a tourist think when witnessing such behavior? This is not just a crime against a person or property; it harms our national image," Abdrakhmanov wrote on Instagram.
He expressed hope that the hooligans would not go unpunished.
The Police Department of Almaty reported that an investigation is being conducted by the Medeu District Police Department regarding this incident.
