Senate deputy Mukhtar Altynbayev talked about “the perks” of roadside rest on Kazakhstani highways and compared the outhouses with roadside stripping, Tengrinews reports. The quality of highways may be improving somehow, but services for the travellers seem to be deteriorating every year. “We do not have any decent roadside service. I have traveled a lot abroad and I see an immense difference; its like night and day. There is a good service and decent restroom there,” Altynbayev said. Bot many outhouses on Kazakhstani highways do not give any privacy, as most of the times there are simply no doors. “Travelling on our highways is a complete 'striptease',” said the Senate member outraged with no privacy of roadside outhouses. “When we travel with guests, it is dangerous and embarrassing to have them use it. The outhouses keep several years of history, and everything one who comes in can see who was their before them and what they were doing,” Altynbayev said. The Senate member called the entrepreneurs and businessmen to solve this issue and build comfortable, hygienic and warm roadside restrooms. “Most of us who are discussing this issues are not drivers. But if we listen to the drivers who spend much of their time on highways, they are outraged with what is happening on the highway roadsides,” added Altynbayev. As for foreign travellers, Kazakhstani highway services can turn into a survival show.
