Tengrinews.kz - Nail Nurov, the head of the Directorate for the preparation and organization of the 5th World Nomad Games, spoke about the significant features of the upcoming Games in Astana.
According to Nurov, the World Nomad Games are distinguished by their unique atmosphere of freedom and flexibility, in contrast to the Olympic Games.
"While the Olympic Games are strictly regulated, the World Nomad Games stand out for their freedom and flexibility. At these Games, an athlete can participate in different types of competitions during one day," Nurov said.
According to him, the main philosophy of the Games reflects the spirit of the Great Steppe. It is this combination that organizers see as the distinctive feature of the World Nomad Games, which are being held for the first time in the capital city, a metropolis.
As the expert noted, on one hand, the Games preserve their historical authenticity, while on the other, they are taking place in one of the most modern cities.
"Meanwhile, our goal is not to astonish, but to allow enthusiasts to appreciate the atmosphere. We are expecting a full house, although the Games will take place on weekdays and conclude within a single day, which might affect attendance due to the working environment in Astana. Therefore, we urge Kazakhs to support us, especially those who can take time off and come from the regions. Almost 300 athletes will compete for 97 sets of medals, and we anticipate active participation and support from the spectators," Nurov continued.
Regarding tickets, Nurov reported that most tickets have already been reserved, although not all have been purchased. Many of the city's major hotels are also fully booked for the duration of the Games.
