Alexandr Vinokourov, a leader of Astana national team has lost one line in the International Cycling Union rating, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing UCI website.
Vinokourov, who has missed several months because of the injury that he got at one of the Tour de France-2011 stages, is now the 15th in the rating. Belgian Philippe Gilbert leads the individual trial. Australian Cadel Evans, who won Tour de France race this year is the second, and Spanish Alberto Contador is the third in the rating.
Astana team is still the 15th in the team classification. Omega Pharma-Lotto, Sky Procycling and Leopard Trek kept the first three lines. Spain is still the strongest country in the countries classification. Belgium and Italy follow it. Kazakhstan is still the 14th, without any changes.
Vinokourov's intention to keep the number of Olympics spots for Kazakhstan in the next season was one of the reasons behind his return to professional cycling. At present Alexander combines the positions of a cyclist and a manager at Astana team. He is Giuseppe Martinelli's adviser now, besides his sport duties.
