Young Kazakhstani cyclists will depart with Astana Pro Team to Vuelta for training, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
“A tournament among children and teenagers took place in Ust-Kamenogorks. We are sending the most distinguished young cyclists to Vuelta. They will train and have an opportunity to see what the Spanish Grand Tour is like. They will be in the thick of action. I think, it is a very memorable and motivating event for the future champions. As a former athlete I know for myself how inspiring it is for a child,” Raimbek Batalov, founder of Raimbek Program that sponsors the young cyclists' trip said.
Vadim Pronsky, Evgeny Gidich and Maxim Satlikov will depart for Spain and stay with the Astana Pro Team from September 12 to 16. Batalov sees this trip as an important investment as it helps prepare a new generation of cyclists. Batalov’s program does not solely focus on cycling. Raimbek Holding also finances a tennis program for children.
Batalov established Raimbek Holding, a large Kazakhstani food and real estate development corporation in 1992.
