World Cyber Games 2011
The best cyber-sportsmen of Almaty will take part in World Cyber Games-2011 Championship that will be held on November 27 in Almaty in one of the city's shopping mall, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the press-office of the event organizers.
About 500 display sportsmen, the winners of the qualification round, will compete for the champion title. Tekken 6, FIFA-2011, StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty and Counter-Strike will become their gaming events. The winners will be awarded with valuable prizes and will travel to the World Cyber Games-2011 Grand Final that will be held in Pusan, South Korea. There they are expected to compete against the finalists from 70 countries.
According to the organizers, the most exciting matches will be displayed on large screens during the tournament. Besides, entertainmnet will be offered to the visitors and participants. Those wishing to try playing cyber-sports games will be given a chance to play Xbox 360 playstation.
The World Cyber Games, a cyber-sport analogue of the Olympic Games is the biggest international championship on computer games that has being held annually by South Korean World Cyber Games Inc since 2000. Every year about 700 players from 70 countries took part in the competition. The prize money of the World Cyber Games amounts to $500 000.
