The Kazakhstan Cycling Federation has expressed condolence to the family of the deceased cyclist Yerlan Pernebekov and promised to cover the transportation expenses, Tengrinews reports citing Interfax-Kazakhstan.
“We were shaken by the news. One of the most promising and talented cyclists of the country died. We were hoping that Yerlan would join the elite of the National team to continue in the steps of other famous Kazakhstani sportsmen,” Alexander Antyshev of the Federation said.
The Federation promised to cover the body transportation expenses from Ecuador to Kazakhstan and provide financial help to Yerlan’s family.
The Kazakh cyclist from Shymkent died in Ecuador during a training camp after suffering a stroke.
