Participants of international expedition to K2 suspended their work because of bad weather. According to Kazakhstan alpinist Maksut Zhumayev, the participants are staying in the base camp on July 10 and 11 becaue it is snowing and there is a landslide threat. “We are planning to ascend the mount on July 12,” Zhumayev said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that the expedition did not reach the second camp and went back to the base camp because of the bad weather. The goal of the expedition is to ascent the most northern eight-thousander: the 8611 meter tall Chogori. It is located in the Karakorum mountain range in Kashmir province (at the border between Pakistan and China). This is the sixth attempt to ascent K2 for Zhumayev.
