Denis Ten: I will finish the season decently in Nice
Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten promised to perform well at World Championship that will be held on March 25 – April 1 in French Nice, Tengrinews.kz reports. “I'd like to finish this season properly. To end it with an optimistic note. We have already discussed this with my coach Frank Carroll. His estimate of my chances are always correct. If he says that I am able to join the Top-10 best skaters than this is true. My goal is to represent my country on a high level and to perform without any mistakes,” the figure skater said. The forthcoming World Championship will become the tenth tournament for Kazakhstan skater in the current season. According to Denis, he is a bit tired already, however he is not thinking about take a rest. “The Minsk World Junior Championship was the recent big tournament for me. I have won the first nominal bronze medal in the history of Kazakhstan skating. I think this is a very good result. I will think about taking some rest later on, but now all my thoughts are in Nice,” the figure skater added. Ten also commented the news of Canadian Courtney Mansour joining Kazakhstan national team. Courtney will perform in Nice paired with Daryn Zhunussov. “I think that one more dance duet is a great advantage for our team. This step does good for Kazakhstan national figure skating and I support it!” Denis Ten won Kazakhstan Senior Figure Skating Championship in 2006. He won Belorussian Junior Grand-Prix stage in 2008-2009 season for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan skating. Then in the same season Ten became eighth in The Los Angeles World Championship in spite of experts' forecasts and came eleventh in the Olympic Games a year later.
