Kazakhstan ranked 4th by records at Olympics-2012

Kazakhstan was ranked 4th by records set at the 30th summer Olympics. According to the official website of the Games, a total of 95 records were set in London: 39 world and 56 Olympic records.

Kazakhstan sportsmen set 4 world and 7 Olympic records. The majority of them were set by weightlifters Ilya Ilyin, Svetlana Podobedova and Zulfiya Chinshanlo.

The U.S. lead the rating of records at Olympics-2012 (6 world and 10 Olympic). They are followed by China (7, 8) and Russia (4, 8). Top 10 record-setting countries include Great Britain (5, 3), Italy (2, 4), Australia (1, 3), South Korea (2, 1), North Korea (1, 2) and the Netherlands (0, 3).

Kazakhstan is ranked 12th by medal count with its sportsmen winning 13 medals: 7 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze.

Gold medals were won by cyclist Aleksandre Vinokourov, weightlifters Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maiya Maneza, Svetlana Podobedova and Ilya Ilyin, athlete Olga Rypakova and boxer Serik Sapiyev.

Boxer Adilbek Niyazimbetov won silver.

Bronze medals were won by Greco-Roman wrestler Daniyal Gajiyev, boxer Marina Volnova, wrestler Gyuzel Manyurova, boxer Ivan Dychko and freestyle wrestler Akzhurek Tanatarov.
