According to operational data from the Kazakhstan Data Center, the earthquake occurred on April 2 at 04:28 Astana time. The magnitude of the tremors was 4.9.

According to the Institute of seismology of the National Academy of the Sciences Kyrgyz Republic, the epicenter was located 3 kilometers from the city of Uzgen, 5 kilometers from the village of Kurshab, 30 kilometers from the city of Kara-Suu, and 45 kilometers from the city of Osh.

In populated areas, the intensity of the earthquake was as follows:

  • in Uzgen, and the villages of Myrza-Aryk and Karool — about 4.5 points;
  • in the villages of Kurshab, Myrza-Ake, Krasny Mayak, and others — 4 points;
  • in Kara-Suu, and the villages of Otuz-Adyr, Kurbu-Tash, Nichke-Sai, Salam-Alik — 3.5 points;
  • in Osh, Manas, and Kok-Yangak — 3 points.

As a reminder, three earthquakes occurred in the Zhetysu Region on March 31. The first earthquake was recorded during the night of March 31, with a magnitude of 4.4. The second earthquake occurred at 11:11 a.m., with its epicenter located 52 kilometers northwest of Zharkent.

The third tremor was recorded by the network of seismic stations at 1:23 p.m. Its epicenter was located 267 kilometers northeast of Almaty. The estimated intensity in Zharkent was 2 points.
