Tengrinews.kz - Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has suspended flights to three more cities in Russia.
Flights from Baku to the following Russian airports have been suspended since December 28, 2024:
- Saratov
- Nizhny Novgorod
- Vladikavkaz
Now the number of cities where AZAL does not fly has grown to 10. Earlier, the airline suspended flights to Grozny and Makhachkala, then to Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, and Samara.
"For security reasons, a decision was also made to suspend flights of other airlines on the specified routes, including Grozny and Makhachkala," AZAL said.
Earlier, Azerbaijan Airlines stated that, according to preliminary data, the cause of the plane crash near Aktau was physical and technical external interference.
The company stated that it took into account potential risks to flight safety.
The suspension of flights will be in effect until the completion of the final investigation.
Passengers of flights to the specified cities in Russia and back who cannot use the airline's services due to the current situation have the right to a full refund of the cost of tickets without penalties or to a free change of flight dates.
