Triumphal arch called Mangilik Eli will be opened in Astana on Kazakhstan's Independence Day (December 16), Tengrinews.kz reports. The monument will look like one of the main sights of Paris, but will be much smaller. According to Astana Construction Department, the height of the future Triumphal arch is 21.5 meters. “The arch will be located at Orynbor main road on the East Bank. The monument will be seen at the entrance to the city from the airport road,” the Department's employee said. “Anyone will be able to go up to the observation platform at the top of the arch and make a photo. This will be free of charge.” According to him, the new monument will become a trademark not only of Astana, but also of the whole Kazakhstan as well. Tengrinews.kz got hold of the design of the future sight of Astana. The image shows that the territory adjusent to the arch is oval.
