The IV Charitable Ball, one of the brightest and most significant events in Kazakhstan cultural life, took place on April 14 at Zhailau golf-resort in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The Ball traditionally began with a red carpet event. Not only Kazakhstan and Russian show-business stars, but also influential businessmen, politicians and the Great Patriotic War veterans (they are honorary guests of the event since 2011) walked the red carpet. 76 debutant dancing couples opened the Ball. Foster children from Almaty orphanages were among the participants. 40 Million Tenge Show host Abdel Mukhtarov, Kazakhstan tennis professional Zarina Diyas and New wave 2012 International contest semifinal singer Luina became this year's debutantes. This year the Ball broke the record of young people wishing to dance in the Ball for the first time. 3500 people came to a casting that was held in Almaty during four days. Later on the organizers selected the dancers in Astana as well. After a ceremonial polonaise and Strauss Blue Danube waltz danced by debutantes, Viktoria Lopyreva, Miss Russia 2003 and Gedeminas Taranda, head of Russian Imperial Ballet, who hosted the ceremony together, declared the Ball open. Francophone singer Lara Fabian became the most long-awaited and the most prominent guest of the Ball. She conquered the world with her voice that is being classified as a lyric soprano. The singer has a range of 4.1 octaves. All the guests made a streak for the stage to see the famous singer closely. Fabian sang both her famous hits including Je t'aime and Mademoiselle Zhivago albums' compositions. During the press-conference prior to the Ball, a major part of the journalists asked the same question, whether it was difficult to bring a world-class star to Almaty and what the singer's rider consisted of. Marat Omarov, Eventica company's director said that Fabian was an open and amiable person. “We were lucky to invite Lara Fabian. We were ready to meet her toughest demands, however, there were nothing complicated. (…) Only the technical rider was quite sophisticated,” Omarov said. One of the main Belgian singer's technical rider condition was a special brand piano. The organizers had to approach Zhaniya Aubakirova, Kazakh Music Conservatoire president, and ask her for the piano. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev presented this instrument to Aubakirova when she was celebrating her 50th jubilee. According to Omarov, besides Fabian's technical rider they had got some other difficulties with the singer. For example, her vocal teacher prohibit Lara from talking in the very day of the performance. “She can't walk the red carpet. She can't go on foot to the stage, because it is windy. That's why we had her dressed warmly, brought her to the stage in a car and after the performance we dressed her warmly again and took her away the same way we brought her,” the Ball organizer said. Ukrainian Opera singer Arina Domski appeared at the stage after numerous dances, performed by debutantes and party's guests. Russian singer Rika Hansen also sang her songs. The Akim (Mayor) of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov and his deputy Serik Seidumanov, opera singer Nurzhamal Ussenbayeva, actresses Karlygash Mukhamedzhanova and Assel Sagatova, producers Erken Yalgashev, Arman Arsenov and Missis Kazakhstan 2011 Viktoria Mominbayeva were seen at the Ball, too. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that the Ball organizers decided to help several women able to have children to pay for one in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure each this year. Six families gained the IVF certificates in the beginning of April.
