Tengrinews.kz - There’s just one week left of summer — the perfect time to wrap up unfinished tasks and get ready for fall. Here are some ideas that might come in handy.
Check your health
Take time to look after yourself. Schedule a general check-up, do the necessary tests to make sure your body is functioning well. Don’t forget the dentist — even without complaints, a preventive visit can help detect potential problems early.
Sort out your budget
Try to plan your budget for the next three months, taking into account not only daily expenses but also possible major purchases. For convenience, make a simple expense table — even notes on your phone will do. Break spending into categories: food, transport, entertainment, loans, and so on. Aim to save at least a small amount — for example, 10 percent of your monthly income.
Clean out your closet
Now is a great time to go through your clothes. Take everything out of your closet and ask yourself: Did you wear this T-shirt or these pants at least once this year? Good pieces can be donated or given to friends, while worn-out ones can be thrown away. Prepare for fall in advance — decide what you might need to buy, like a sweater, comfy boots, or a jacket.

Take a local tour
We often live in one city for years without really exploring it. The last week of summer is the perfect excuse to change that. Create your own route: stroll through an old neighborhood, stop by a museum, walk in the park, or head to the riverfront. Turn the day into a mini adventure: pick a color — say, green — and go on a walk with the mission of spotting it everywhere. Snap some photos, put together a mini album, and you’ll realize how much beauty hides in familiar places.
Go to a concert, festival, or street event
This is a wonderful way to soak up the atmosphere of the outgoing summer. You could see a local band, drop by a festival, or enjoy an open-air performance. Check the events calendar in your city or a nearby one — you’ll probably find something special just for you.

Try a phone-free day
To make it easier, let friends and family know in advance that you’ll be offline. Then switch off notifications and put your phone out of reach to avoid temptation. Use the free time for reading, cooking, walking, or meeting friends. Just one gadget-free day can make a big difference.
Create a “summer capsule”
Take a box or envelope and fill it with summer memories: printed photos, tickets from concerts or trips, pressed flowers, a souvenir, and a note with your feelings and gratitude for the season. In winter — or a year from now — you can open it and relive the summer of 2025. You can also arrange these items in a collage and frame them under glass. And if you haven’t had your “special moments” yet, you still have a whole week to create them.

Write a fall to-do list
Jot down a few goals for the new season. They could be practical — like paying down debt or learning a new skill. Or they could be personal: finally signing up for dance classes or giving yoga a try. And don’t forget to plan at least one trip out of town — a change of scenery will give you fresh energy and memories.
