Satu Fest Satu Fest

Black Friday and Boxing day, all in one are coming to Almaty to sweep the Kazakhstani shoppers off their feet with blowout bargains as a part of Satu Fest, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Akimat (city council). Right before the Independence Day (December 16) the Satu Fest is going to treat residents and visitors of the city with huge discounts in Almaty malls on December 14-15. The long weekend promises slashed prices at Mega Alma-Ata, Esetai Mall, ADK, Promenade, Globus, Mart, City Plus, Sputnik, Praim Plaza, and Merei Mall. Technodom, Sulpak, Essey and Ramstor will also be holding holiday specials in all their shops around the city. Similar to the US Black Friday or UK and Canadian Boxing Day, the Satu Fest is marketing the idea of a shopping holiday with major sales. In the US, the UK and Canada stores open as early as at 5 a.m. to accommodate a great number of buyers who line up to scoop up items on 50% or up sale. Buying a 42 inch TV for $199 is certainly a great deal. The next thing on the list for the Kazakhstani retailers should be "a Cyber Monday" to promote online shopping in the country. Offering online bargains would be a great marketing strategy for persuading those wary Kazakhstani shoppers of the value of shopping online.
