Almaty residents will celebrate Nauryz with concerts and fireworks

Celebration of Nauryz will start in Almaty on Astana square at 11:00 a.m., Tengrinews.kz reports. Almaty residents and guests will be welcomed by the city Akim (Mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov. The Akim's speech will be followed by a play in three parts called Awakening, Traditions and Nauryz Shahu. A concert and sport games will be be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. According to head of culture department Kairat Kulbayev, the square will also have holiday food for all the attendants. The fireworks will start at 10:00 p.m. International children film festival Kinotavrik will start at 1:30 p.m. on March 22. Over 500 children will take part in the fest. The final will be held in Almaty on March 29. A party with Kazakhstan stars will he held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
